Volunteer Your Time!
There are many opportunities for volunteering at Flint Hills
Therapeutic Riding Center! From horse care to side-walking for a client during a class, we invite all willing individuals
to come out and spend some time helping others one ride at a time! Read below for
some of our current volunteers' testimonies:
What do you personally take away from volunteering with FHTRC?
· I love working with the kids, volunteers, staff and horses! · It’s wonderful to see the confidence children gain
riding the horses. I love to see them so happy! · I gain a sense of accomplishment and something to do with my Monday afternoons! · ...The joy of helping kids, seeing actual progress and working
with the horse “staff”! · ...The
satisfaction of helping others! · I enjoy
working with all the children & staff, as well as learning how therapy helps patients. · I love
the shear joy on the kids faces when they see their horse come into the arena. Or when we see an improvement in their
walking and talking.
Register for an Upcoming Event!
Our equine-assisted
therapy activities are changing lives: from helping children to walk and speak, to helping our youth develop self-confidence
and a better understanding of the special needs that exist in our community. Our main events are: *
Rockin' Roundup in the spring, a new event for clients, families and the community at large; enjoy a carnival atmosphere
with games and activities for children and fun competitive events for our riders to show off their horsemanship skills! * Horseshoe Hoedown in the fall, an annual event designed to raise funds and awareness for FHTRC; join us for an evening
complete with a complementary dinner, live music, live & silent auction. We always welcome event
planning help, donations and volunteers to help make each event better every time!
